DENTAL
EMERGENCIES
When you visit us for a dental exam, your dentist will check your existing fillings and may suggest that you replace any loose or broken ones.

Your dentist will also look for any signs of decay, such as brown or black spots, and use X-rays to take a closer look at any potential problems.

If you have a cavity, your dentist may keep choosing to either monitor it, or fill it right away, depending on its severity.

If a cavity needs to be tended to immediately, there are several different kinds of fillings that can be used. Our experienced dentists will advise you on which type may work best in your particular case and inform you of the aesthetic and cost implications for each. However, the final decision on which kind to use will always be your choice.

PAINLESS INJECTONS
We now proudly offer painless injections to all of our patients. Painless injections work by sending a signal to your nerve receptors to essentially close the “pain gate” to your brain, allowing you to enjoy a pain-free and low-stress dental experience.

WHITENING
Preventative care is one of the most valuable services that we provide. Designed to help you maintain a beautiful and healthy smile for life, regular dental check-ups and cleanings are an essential part of your overall health. Regular preventative appointments can save you much time, money, and pain down the road.

HYGIENE APPOINTMENTS
In addition to regular brushing and flossing, part of your hygiene and prevention routine should be regular visits to the dentist. Through reducing plaque buildup and detecting signs of decay at an early stage, the dentist can help you maintain your oral health for life. At Maxome Finch Dental, your preventative cleaning appointment will consist of:
-
A full dental Exam performed by the dentist
-
Removal of Calculus (tartar) a type of hardened plaque that forms above and below the gum line
-
Removal of plaque, a sticky film that forms on teeth from bacteria, food debris, and saliva. Plaque is often the cause of gum disease which can effect your general health.
-
Teeth polishing to remove stains and plaque still present after brushing and scaling.
-
A fluoride treatment to increase the teeth’s resistance to decay.

SEALANTS
As part of our preventative care routine, we also offer dental sealants. While it is important to take care of teeth to prevent decay, sometimes a patient’s natural make-up may be such that a gap exists between teeth that may harbor bacteria. Sealant, a thin plastic coating, may be applied to prevent further decay. The application process is completely painless and only takes a few minutes.
PREVENTATIVE
CARE
Everyone wants a perfect smile! While few people are lucky enough to be born with one, almost everybody can achieve one. A beautiful smile will improve your confidence, make you look younger, and give you the added edge you need to take that next step in life. Having teeth that both look great and function fully, can be completely life changing.
Want a whiter, brighter smile?
Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you. A brighter smile can boost your confidence and help you make a memorable first impression.
Drinking coffee, tea, cola, red wine, smoking, and just general aging can all diminish the whiteness of your teeth. Luckily, MaxomeFinch has several solutions to suit your individual needs. [Take-Home Whitening Available]

Crowns & Bridges
Crown and bridgework consists of the restoration of your natural teeth that have been damaged, decayed, or lost. To learn more about how crowns and bridges could help you, go here.

Discrete Fillings
Also known as composite fillings, white fillings are designed to match the colour of your teeth. They can be used to restore a decayed tooth or repair some other defect.
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are the perfect way to transform your smile into the one you’ve always dreamed of. They can completely transform crooked or stained teeth, as well as ones that have been damaged or worn.
Veneers are custom-created to suit each individual and are as strong as natural teeth. They won’t discolour or chip over time.
COSMETIC
DENTISTRY
At MaxomeFinch Dental Care, we know your time is precious, that’s why we perform oral surgery such as wisdom teeth removal and frenectomies right in the comfort of our office.

Wisdom teeth are the last molars on either side of the jaw. They are the final teeth to emerge, usually between the ages of 16 and 20. Wisdom teeth can become impacted, or trapped beneath gum tissue or other teeth and bone. This results in swelling and tenderness. At MaxomeFinch we can remove wisdom teeth in-office for your convenience.

We also offer frenectomy procedures where a small fold of tissue that prevents front teeth from closing is removed. This inhibits gaps from forming between the teeth and can also be done right in the comfort of our office.
We can also complete the entire process of implant placement in-office.
The ability to perform oral surgery right here at MaxomeFinch Dental Care means less time and money wasted for you, our valued patient.
ORAL SURGERY &
WISDOM
TEETH
A root canal is a common dental procedure that is performed when a tooth has decayed or been damaged. A dentist removes the pulp from the centre of the tooth and fills the cavity to prevent the spread of infection to the surrounding teeth.

What to expect during a Root Canal Treatment
-
The dentist will carefully numb your gums, teeth, and tongue with anesthesia to ensure the process is as painless as possible.
-
The pulp from the damaged tooth will be removed and the resulting cavity will be filled with a temporary filling.
-
A permanent filling or, in some cases, a crown is usually required after the initial procedure.

CANAL
THERAPY
Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that results from plaque. The plaque can infect the gums, causing gingivitis, and destroy the bone and tissues that support the teeth in a process called periodontitis. This is the leading cause of tooth loss and bad breath in adults.

Thankfully, Periodontal disease is easily prevented through regular trips to the dentist to keep your teeth and gums healthy. It is also important to maintain daily brushing and flossing practices.

Symptoms of Gum Disease
-
Gums that bleed easily
-
Red, swollen, or tender gums
-
Gums that have receded from the teeth
-
Persistent bad breath
-
A change in how your teeth fit together when you bite
-
A change in the fit of partial dentures

PERIODONTAL
DISEASE
At MaxomeFinch Dental Care we are proud to offer Invisalign clear braces.

Invisalign is a modern solution to traditional methods of straightening one’s teeth. For years, wire braces corrected a variety of teeth and jaw alignment flaws. The wire system is painful to wear, difficult to maintain, requires intensive professional dental care, and can be a source of embarrassment for many wearers.

Invisalign process is about more than just appearances — it’s also beneficial to your oral health.

When your teeth are in their ideal positions, they are able to fit together and function properly. When your teeth are not naturally in those ideal positions, you can run into problems with gum disease, pain, chipping, and even bone loss.

If you suffer from spaced teeth, overly-crowded teeth, crossbite, overbite, or underbite, you may need orthodontic treatment. Some patients think orthodontic treatment is just for teenagers, but many of our adult patients are choosing the comfortable convenience of Invisalign. You’re never too old to take control of your smile.

Talk to us today about how orthodontic appliances can help maintain that space. If you think Invisalign could be the solution for you, contact MaxomeFinch Dental Care at 4162281118 today to schedule a consultation.
CLEAR
ALIGNERS
At MaxomeFinch Dental Care, we consider every solution for our patients. Two very common options are crowns and bridges.

CROWNS
A crown is a covering for a tooth that has incurred damage to its biting surface. This could be due to a cracked filling, which leads to decay in the tooth. If it is decided a crown is needed, any decay or old filling material will be removed. The tooth is then prepped and an impression is taken to properly recreate its exact shape. Then, a temporary crown is inserted until the final one is ready.

BRIDGES
When a tooth is missing, one option may be a bridge. This type of implant is a porcelain tooth replacement that is fused to a metal “bridge” between the two teeth on either side of the missing one. Impressions are taken to ensure a seamless and comfortable fit. Then, a temporary bridge is inserted until the final one is ready.

CROWNS &
BRIDGES
Tooth loss is a common issue usually caused by trauma, decay, or aging. While dentures have historically been the only option to treat this problem, recent advancements have allowed patients an amazing new range of choices.

Dental implants function and look just like a natural tooth and are a wonderful option for many people. They are placed directly into the empty socket and develop an attachment with the existing bone structure. Implants transmit all of the sensations of having a natural tooth yet carry none of the potential problems of traditional dentures.

Additionally, patients with multiple missing teeth may not need an implant for each one. Often, one implant can support several teeth via a bridge.
DENTAL
IMPLANTS
At MaxomeFinch Dental Care, we understand the anxiety and fear that sometimes accompanies a trip to the dentist. We do everything we can to ensure a painless and comfortable procedure for our patients, and sedation is one of the ways we can accomplish this.
Through sedation, you won’t feel any discomfort and likely won’t remember the treatment itself at all. This method also allows multiple procedures to be completed in a single visit, including:
-
Extractions
-
Root Canal Therapy
-
Replacing crowns or dentures
-
Fixing chipped or damaged teeth
-
Restoring sore gums to good health

We use a type of sedation called twilight anesthesia. This technique induces a state of relaxed restfulness without the patient being fully asleep. It will also create amnesia of the procedure and carries fewer risks than general anesthesia. It is a wonderful solution for apprehensive patients.

Children can also benefit from sedation. For the very nervous child, oral sedation or Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) can help create a seamless and stress-free experience. Once the child is asleep, the procedure can begin. By relaxing them in this way, children can learn that they have nothing to fear at the dentist.
SEDATION
DENTISTRY
Here at MaxomeFinch Dental Care, we use a state-of-the-art digital x-ray system to provide our patients with the safest and most educational experience possible. Along with being environmentally friendly, digital x-rays allow for minimal exposure time and 80% less radiation than the traditional kind.
All images are scanned into our computer and stored for future reference. This method means larger, crisper images which are used to easily explain areas of potential concern to you.

3D Imaging (ConeBeam CT)
We're excited to offer the most advanced imaging process in dentistry: ConeBeam CT scanning, or 3D imaging. This technology allows us to create virtually unlimited views of your teeth, face, and neck with just one scan. We're able to obtain high-quality, detailed information to diagnose and plan your treatment needs. We can evaluate your teeth and facial structures from literally every angle, in 3D, and in color! Routine x-rays, on the other hand, produce a single flat image with limited information.

The ConeBeam CT imaging system is a digital x-ray scanner that rotates once around your head while you stand or simply sit in a chair. The process is quick, simple, and completely painless. The scans produced are as precise as conventional CT (CAT) scans, but use far less radiation. The applications in dentistry are limitless. We use these scans to provide the best treatment in dental implants, root canals, diagnosis of dental and facial pain, etc.

Regardless of your needs, 3D imaging makes it possible to plan and customize your care unlike never before. You can have absolute confidence and satisfaction in the treatment you receive, knowing we've analyzed every problem with 3D technology.
