We are a full-service practice and can guide you through your dental needs from start to finish. We offer preventative care, family dentistry, periodontal care, cosmetic dentistry, implants and optional sedation.
We follow the Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide to help keep your costs low. We work with all insurance companies and bill them directly, so you won’t have to pay the insurance portion of your fee at the time of your treatment

EMERGENCIES
When you visit us for a dental exam, your dentist will check your existing fillings and may suggest that you replace any loose or broken ones.
Your dentist will also look for any signs of decay, such as brown or black spots, and use X-rays to take a closer look at any potential problems.
If you have a cavity, your dentist may keep choosing to either monitor it, or fill it right away, depending on its severity.
If a cavity needs to be tended to immediately, there are several different kinds of fillings that can be used. Our experienced dentists will advise you on which type may work best in your particular case and inform you of the aesthetic and cost implications for each. However, the final decision on which kind to use will always be your choice.

Professional teeth whitening can help brighten teeth that have become stained or discoloured over time. At Maxome Finch Dental Care, we offer in-office Zoom whitening for patients looking for a faster and more noticeable whitening result.

HYGIENE APPOINTMENTS
In addition to regular brushing and flossing, part of your hygiene and prevention routine should be regular visits to the dentist. Through reducing plaque buildup and detecting signs of decay at an early stage, the dentist can help you maintain your oral health for life. At Maxome Finch Dental, your preventative cleaning appointment will consist of:

A full dental Exam performed by the dentist

Removal of Calculus (tartar) a type of hardened plaque that forms above and below the gum line

Removal of plaque, a sticky film that forms on teeth from bacteria, food debris, and saliva. Plaque is often the cause of gum disease which can effect your general health.

Teeth polishing to remove stains and plaque still present after brushing and scaling.

A fluoride treatment to increase the teeth’s resistance to decay.
SEALANTS
As part of our preventative care routine, we also offer dental sealants. While it is important to take care of teeth to prevent decay, sometimes a patient’s natural make-up may be such that a gap exists between teeth that may harbor bacteria. Sealant, a thin plastic coating, may be applied to prevent further decay. The application process is completely painless and only takes a few minutes.

TOOTH-COLOURED FILLINGS
Also known as composite fillings, tooth-coloured fillings are designed to blend naturally with your teeth. They can be used to restore teeth affected by decay, wear, or minor damage.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made restorations bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to improve their appearance. They can be used to address discoloration, minor chips, gaps, worn teeth, and certain shape or alignment concerns.

At Maxome Finch Dental Care, we provide selected oral surgery procedures in the comfort of our office, including wisdom tooth extractions, frenectomies, and dental implant placement.
Wisdom teeth are the last molars to develop and may become impacted or partially erupted. In some cases, they can contribute to pain, infection, decay, or problems with the surrounding teeth and gums. We evaluate each patient clinically and with appropriate imaging to determine whether removal is recommended.
A frenectomy is a minor surgical procedure that modifies or removes a restrictive frenum when clinically indicated. It may be recommended in certain orthodontic, periodontal, or functional situations.
We also provide dental implant placement for suitable patients. Before any surgical procedure, we carefully evaluate your individual needs and discuss the recommended treatment, alternatives, and expected recovery.

ROOT CANAL THERAPY
Root canal treatment may be needed when the pulp inside a tooth becomes inflamed or infected due to deep decay, cracks, trauma, or other damage. The goal of treatment is to remove the affected pulp, clean and disinfect the root canal system, and seal the tooth to help preserve it.
What to Expect During Root Canal Treatment
The tooth is carefully numbed with local anesthetic for your comfort.
The affected pulp is removed, and the root canals are cleaned, disinfected, and shaped.
The canals are filled and sealed to help prevent reinfection.
After root canal treatment, the tooth is restored with a filling or, when indicated, a crown to protect it and restore function.
Root canal treatment can often help save a natural tooth that might otherwise require extraction.

Periodontal disease, commonly known as gum disease, is an inflammatory condition caused by bacteria in dental plaque. In its early stage, gingivitis affects the gums and can often be controlled with professional care and good oral hygiene. If the condition progresses to periodontitis, it can damage the bone and tissues that support the teeth and may eventually lead to tooth mobility or tooth loss.
Regular dental examinations, professional cleanings, and effective daily brushing and flossing can help reduce the risk of gum disease and allow us to detect problems early. Depending on the severity of the condition, treatment may include professional cleaning, scaling and root planing, or ongoing periodontal maintenance.

PERIODONTAL

At MaxomeFinch Dental Care we are proud to offer Invisalign clear braces.
Clear aligners are a discreet orthodontic option designed to gradually move teeth into improved alignment using a series of custom-made removable trays.
They may be suitable for many common orthodontic concerns, including crowding, spacing, and certain bite problems. Because the aligners are removable, patients can take them out for eating, brushing, and flossing.
Treatment time and suitability vary from person to person. A clinical assessment and appropriate records are required to determine whether clear aligner treatment is right for you.

At MaxomeFinch Dental Care, we consider every solution for our patients. Two very common options are crowns and bridges.
Crowns
A dental crown is a custom-made restoration that covers and protects a damaged or weakened tooth. Crowns may be recommended for teeth with large fillings, cracks, significant wear, or following root canal treatment. The tooth is prepared, an impression or digital scan is taken, and a temporary crown may be placed while the final restoration is being made.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a fixed restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth. A traditional bridge uses crowns on the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth to support an artificial replacement tooth. In some cases, bridges can also be supported by dental implants.
The appropriate treatment depends on the condition of the surrounding teeth, gums, bone, and your individual needs.

Dental implants are a long-term option for replacing one or more missing teeth. An implant is a titanium fixture that is surgically placed in the jawbone and can support a crown, bridge, or denture.
After placement, the implant is given time to integrate with the surrounding bone. Once healing is complete, a custom restoration can be attached to restore appearance and function.
Dental implants can help preserve chewing function and provide a stable, natural-looking replacement for missing teeth. In some cases, strategically placed implants can also support multiple replacement teeth or help stabilize a denture.
Implant treatment is not suitable for everyone. A clinical examination and appropriate imaging are required to assess the available bone, gum health, medical history, and other factors before treatment is recommended.

Nitrous oxide, sometimes called “laughing gas,” is a mild form of sedation that can help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during dental treatment. It is inhaled through a small mask placed over the nose and begins working within a few minutes.
During treatment, patients remain awake and able to communicate with the dental team. The level of nitrous oxide can be adjusted throughout the procedure based on the patient’s comfort and needs.
Once the procedure is complete, the nitrous oxide is stopped and oxygen is administered. The effects typically wear off quickly, allowing most patients to return to their normal activities shortly afterward.
Nitrous oxide may be helpful for patients who experience dental anxiety, have difficulty relaxing during treatment, or benefit from additional comfort during certain procedures.
Nitrous oxide is not appropriate for every patient. Before treatment, we review your medical history and individual needs to determine whether it is a suitable option for you.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Digital X-Rays
Digital dental X-rays provide detailed images that help us detect and evaluate conditions that may not be visible during a clinical examination. Images are available immediately and can be enlarged and reviewed with you to help explain findings and treatment options.
We take dental X-rays based on each patient’s individual needs and clinical findings, while using appropriate techniques to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure.
3D CBCT Imaging
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) creates detailed three-dimensional images of the teeth, jaws, bone, and surrounding structures. When clinically indicated, CBCT can provide information that may not be available from conventional two-dimensional dental X-rays.
We may use CBCT imaging for selected cases such as dental implant planning, evaluation of impacted teeth, complex root canal cases, and assessment of certain dental or facial conditions.
The type of imaging recommended depends on your individual clinical needs.

DENTAL SERVICES FOR REFUGEES
We welcome refugees and patients who are eligible for coverage through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).
The IFHP, administered by Medavie Blue Cross, provides coverage for eligible urgent dental services according to the program’s benefit guidelines. Coverage and treatment limits vary depending on the service, and some procedures may require prior approval.
As of May 1, 2026, patients are responsible for a 30% co-payment for eligible supplemental benefits, including dental care. Additional costs may apply for services or amounts not covered by the IFHP.
Before treatment, our team can verify your IFHP eligibility and available dental coverage and explain any expected costs.
